Google, Youtube And Copyright

In a rather stunning move, Google recently purchased the popular video site YouTube The question many are asking is how Google will deal with the potential copyright violations on the site?

To show you how much the Internet has changed in a relatively short amount of time, it is important to look back at the last big public medium that had copyright issues. In this case, we are talking about Napster. As you know, Napster was a system where music could be traded by people for free. This, of course, drove the record labels and artists crazy. When Do Independent Contractors Own A Copyright On Their Work?

Recently, several different potential copyright clients inquiring whether they had a case for intentional copyright violation of their work have approached me. They all had similar stories. They worked as volunteers, interns or independent contractors for various companies. While working with those companies, they each created an original work in a tangible medium. They were not paid for their work, but rather were promised some sort of credit for their work, either in the form of college credits, or promotion of their name with the work. In each case, the other party did not deliver the promised consideration. As such, the potential client’s believed they had a copyright on the work they created, and further believed they could sue for copyright violation.

The defendants owned a European patent for a device called a ‘stent’ used in coronary angioplasty. The ‘stent’ is inserted into a diseased artery during the procedure to keep the artery open. The claims in the patent concerned a ‘stent’ coated with a polymer loaded with the drug taxol. This drug inhibited the development of tissue which might result in the artery closing.

Cutting Down The Price Of Justice

Bringing a case to court is indeed very costly nowadays. In fact, some lawyers focus more on what they would benefit from their clients rather than how they can resolve a certain case. This lawyer’s way of thinking greatly affects our justice system and leaves those poor legal help seekers unaided.

However, many legal professionals offer various payment schemes in order to address the problem of clients having insufficient financial aid. It is then up to the clients to choose among those methods that suit their financial capability. Yet, lawyers would not generally result to bargaining their services.

Babies And Pets

Babies and pets require some preparation in order for the combination to work well.

A large number of pets are taken to the shelters when they’re family members find out that they are expecting a child. It is very sad for the pet and for the family to relinquish a favored family member because a new arrival is expected. In most cases it is not necessary to give your pet away just because you are expecting a baby.

With a little effort and patience the transition can be made and all members of the family can remain intact.
